Community Foundation of West Tennessee Announces Relaunch of 100 Women Who Care: West Tennessee

The Community Foundation of West Tennessee announced the relaunch of 100 Women Who Care: West Tennessee today during a press event hosted at The Foundation office. This new initiative will unite women across the region to use the power of collective giving to make an impact in West Tennessee.

“Being an ambassador for 100 Women Who Care is fun and rewarding. I have friends in other cities who are involved with their chapter of 100 Women, and they encouraged me to get involved here,” said Linda Rizzuto, an Impact Ambassador for the group. “I think it is powerful to donate with other women and see the significant impact it makes in Jackson and West Tennessee. This is a perfect way to meet new women of all ages and learn about the charities in West Tennessee.”

100 Women Who Care Jackson was introduced in 2019 by Shelby Mathis and Alli Dumas. The group made awards to several nonprofits serving Madison County until the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are excited to partner with the group to relaunch this effort and expand the reach across our region,” said Beth Koffman, Chief Operating Officer for the Community Foundation of West Tennessee. “Women are often the catalysts of community because they bring people together. I wanted to be a part of 100 Women Who Care because I love the idea of women of all ages, races, and backgrounds joining together to change our community.”

Nonprofits will submit grant applications to be reviewed by a volunteer selection committee who selects six organizations to present (three large, three small). Each March, the group will meet to network with one another and hear from the six finalists. After the presentations, members and sponsors will vote to determine which nonprofit in each category receives the grant award.

The new structure for 100 Women Who Care offers different giving options to make philanthropy accessible for all women in West Tennessee. Donations are payable in installments or as a one-time gift.

Donations are due by January 31, 2024 to participate in the annual awards. The program offers three membership levels:

Member - $100 annually – 1 vote
Advocate - $500 annually – 2 votes
Champion - $1,000 annually – 3 votes

Business sponsorships for the annual event are available at two levels: $500 and $1,500.
